This lovely little vase is signed, but not a signature I am familiar with
it measures 11x9cm

It's definitely glass. The pattern is raised and coloured on both the rim and the body, like Gallé and I would guess it dates from the Belle epoque too, or a bit later. You can see the letters in the pictures as well as I can; Guéguit or quéguit or something?

No, it isn't ceramic. It is glass. Good grief, do you really think I can't tell the difference? Look at the bottom of the second shot, you can see clear glass. That's because it is made of entirely of glass. By the way, did I mention that it is made of glass and not ceramic?

A fuzzy low res shot of an edge of the base isn't much help. The top inside looks like ceramic; the sides look ceramic. Many glass experts have been fooled by ceramics that look like glass, which is why I asked for a base shot. A base shot is also very useful glass items. Don't worry I won't be responding to your queries again

Don't take it personally apolonius, We can only go by the photos,  and if we're seeing ceramic then obviously we need more photos.

i don't know who made it, but it's lovely.
i'm wondering if it's Belgian - the name looks French and the style is similar to the pottery (i know, it's glass) of Boch Freres

Yes it's a curiosity. I thought it so distinctive that, combined with the signature, people would leap to give me answers. I don't know enough to compare it to other glass or pottery makers, but it does remind me of the work of several painters; Klee and Klimt being the most obvious. Looks more like secessionist art or pottery than glass, which was perhaps the makers intention.
