Re: Stuart Macdonald, STS, STR or STC mark
Thanks Dan, it would fit the number of letters. There are no Macdonalds in the
book, or here on the forum. A vase was on EB, but the seller didn't show the mark!

Re: Stuart Macdonald, STS, STR or STC mark
he may be the author? I'm guessing pottery wasn't his profession given the lack of info available

Re: Stuart Macdonald, STS, STR or STC mark
Yes it seems a Stuart Macdonald taught pottery at some time.
Re: Stuart Macdonald, STS, STR or STC mark
But having thought about it, would an amateur potter/teacher create a stamp,
and a seal, for what is quite a well-made pot?

Re: Stuart Macdonald, STS, STR or STC mark
Mark doesn't look familiar but isn't there impressed areas within the outer dark impressed shape? if that makes sense.

Looks like STC. Not a mark I've come across before.

That makes perfect sense, studio.
Likening it to an 'omega' sign was my lame attempt to describe it succinctly.
"STC"? Hmmm, I see what you mean, Naomi.
Thanks
Greenie

Re: Stuart Macdonald, STS, STR or STC mark
It looks vaguely familiar but I can't make out the letters.
I've moved your ID requests to the ID My Pottery forum so that members will see them. The other pottery forums are for pots that have already been positively identified

Thanks for moving posts to correct forum Naomi.
The marks on these mugs/cups looks like a design rather than letters...!
