Help finding maker on German Porcelain oil lamp
Hello All,
It's nearly Friday thank goodness! I'm hoping that today someone can help me out finding the maker and possible manufacturing date/info for a German Oil Lamp I just picked up. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
The stamp appears to be a "T" with an "X" or crossed swords underneath with Germany written under that. There is also a hand painted number in gold that is "1435" and finally, a stamp that appears to read "1919". Could that be the manufacture date or pattern number?
See the images below. Many thanks!

Sorry but your links aren't working. I don't think you can upload from Dropbox.

Re: Help finding maker on German Porcelain oil lamp
It's from a factory in Saxony at Freital-Potschappel that was opened by Carl Thieme in 1872. The factory was in existance in the late 20th century when it was known as VEB Sachsische Porzellen-Manufaktur Dresden and it might well still exist.
This mark is one of the earliest used so late 19th century, which might mean that the Forum will implode.

The painted gold mark is likely to be the decorator's id or the pattern id and the impressed number the shape. 1919 as a date seems too late for the T X mark.

Re: Help finding maker on German Porcelain oil lamp
I read that the factory production consisted "exclusively of handpainted fancy and luxury porcelain."
So good quality.

Yes you're right, looks a bit un-PC, but similar to many Watteau-style romantic
cartouches one usually sees on Limoges porcelain.
