Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
This Delphis shape 5 charger, was decorated by Angela Wyburgh 1969-73.
We don't enter into valuations on the forum, but this is a nicely done piece.
Ebay would be the place to look.

The Delphis range was produced between 1966 and 1980, your dish is c.1970. The designs were individual to each paintress so each item would be different The shape 5 refers to the dish diameter of 14".

Cheers When I saw ovenproof I assumed it was part of a dinner service

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
It is possible that the dish should have had a footrim so that it wouldn't look like a tableware dish. Sometimes you will find delphis dishes that are marked as shape 3A or shape4A rather than the usual shape 3 or 4. These dishes are the same diameter but do not have footrims. What probably happens is that towards the end of the day the paintresses would run out of the appropriate dishes so would go to the nearby tableware section and take blank dishes to decorate. Sometimes shape 49 dishes turnup with no footrim and an indentation to the centre showing them to be small saucers.

A nice example of CC, strangely the Babycham faun, with intact horns, behind it
may be worth more!

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
Cheers, I’ll have to go back and check. There were 2 Poole plates in the window. The other one was closer to the door and fell off its stand and smashed. Not my fault! The shop nextdoor shut its door and the vibration knocked the plate off its stand. I suggested they move the Carol Cutler plate to a safer location incase it happened again but they didn’t

Poole Pottery help please
Hi all,
I picked up this peice of poole pottery which is a nice-sized planter 16.5cm tall x 19cm. the outide has these lovely brush flowers and the inside is plain chocolate brown.
The bottom has the no. 496, ABJ and then the letter K
I have checked the Part one and Two in here for Poole Pottery which has left me really confused. I thought the 496 was the style but I read that the ABJ is the style and the K is the artist. I thought this was a peice by Jacqueline Mackenzie Leonard but now I not so sure.
Thank you
Emma
