Hi all

I have this pair of jars or jarlets and was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about them , possible country they were made? , approx date? , what is that form of decoration called? - spongeware?

I suspect they are Imported. Can't tell from the photos what they're made from, but if it's softer white earthenware then likely to be from Italy or Portugal. If it's a harder porcelain or stoneware then possibly from China or Taiwan

Feels and sounds like porcelain to me - sounds metallic when tapped .

The shape certainly looks oriental. The design looks fairly modern but it seems to have old white paint splashed which is always a good sign in my book, so may be 60s?

Difficult to really tell from images but they look like stoneware to me.
