Money box - Dendan Ware, England
50-60s money box marked Dendan. I think the rest of the mark says Ware England. I've seen these referred to as English and Dutch. Any ideas where it was made?

There's a Dendan Ware piggy bank on ebay at the moment clearly marked "MADE IN ENGLAND"

Re: Money box - Dendan Ware, England
I suspect the Dutch possibility came about because someone did a web search and the only company of that name they could find was a Dutch one, Dendan BV, which is/was based in the town of Monster. Scary but no connection because I think it operated in financial services.
It is surprising that there appears to be numerous items of Dendan Ware about but no-one seems to know anything about who made it.

They seem to have made a lot of money boxes, or maybe those are the only pieces people bothered to keep :D

I wonder if it was a trade/retailer/wholesaler/or range name, used by a known
pottery? Lord Nelson would fit.
Looks to be late 50s/early 60s.

I suspect something similar to you DD but I think it might be a little later than late 50s/early 60s despite the image, as the way the decoration is applied seems a little advanced for that time.

I was just analyzing the icons SP, all late 50s. Transferred body, and hand-painted top,
by the looks of things.
