maritime steamer painting

Hello, Can anyone identify the maritime steamer in this oil on board painting? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David.

is it an ice breaker?

Not certain, however, it is the boat itself (it's name) I would like identified! David.

I found some pictures of a Canadian icebreaking ferry called the Abegweit, built in 1947. It looks pretty similar apart from the arrangement at the stern, which I suppose might have altered over the years:

That's a ro-ro ramp at the stern. The ship in the painting is very similar granted but no ramp.
