The Courtauld Gallery
This gallery based in Somerset House, London has become one of the places I visit on a regular basis. Besides the permanent collection they stage regular exhibitions and earlier this year their Goya: The Witches and Old Women Album was memorable. However, for me this has been surpassed by their current exhibition: Soaring Flight - Peter Lanyon's Gliding Paintings, which I saw today.
The exhibition continues until 17th January 2016 and, although it consists of only 18 large paintings and 3 constructions, all of the paintings are quite magnificent.
Besides this there is also an even smaller exhibition "Bridget Riley Learning from Seurat" in the Courtauld and elsewhere in Somerset House a free exhibition "Out of Chaos - Ben Uri 100 Years in London" that continues until 13 December.
An afternoon well spent.

The Ben Uri exhibition has a wide breadth of work on show, as it covers their entire history............... and I wasn't the only goy looking around.

Re: The Courtauld Gallery
I went to the Ben Uri Exhibition...i thought it was wonderful..and free. From the early works portraying Jewish Immigrants coming to England..through the 30's..The War..and the present day....a wide panoramaof Jewish Art(but much more than that)...and its interesting how it is trying to drive contemporary conversation towards migration
I especially loved the 2 Simeon Solomon paintings(my favourite Pre-Raphaelite)...exhibition runs to December 13th
And i found one spelling and one grammatical error in the notes by the paintings...they were so impressed i might do some proof reading !
