Need help identifying this pottery vessel with 3 vertical spouts
Hello, I need help identifying this pottery vessel. I found it in a thrift store. I know that it is a modern reproduction of whatever it is, I just don't know what it is. At first I thought it may have been Native American art from the Southwest, perhaps Navajo, but I couldn't find any similar styled vessels or patterns while browsing Google images. Now I am starting to think it is more Middle-Eastern in nature, perhaps Egyptian. The pattern certainly looks like it could be some sort of Egyptian scepter. Also, while this is not exactly related to identifying the piece, what do some of you think that signature reads too? I thought it said maybe "Zodly" or "Qodly". Qodly appears to be an uncommon Middle-Eastern name so that may be in-line with my Egyptian theory. Ideally, I would like to know the type of vessel this is called, what it was originally used for, and what culture made such vessels. Thanks for any help!

Looks like a very abstract version of a tulip vase. When the values of tulips went crazy in the 17th century the Dutch amongst others made very stylish vases to show off the flowers, they often had round designs with individual holders for each flower (due to the value of each bud). This is of course not an old vase and I would guess some time in the last 40 years but the style is of an abstract tulip vase. My guess would be American studio tulip vase that has not traveled far to get to you in Florida ( the Dutch did get around America I am told LOL).

I've heard them called 'Udder vases'. The ones with two necks and a handle are Marriage flasks. I think the suggestion it's Native American or Pueblo pottery may be correct.

This does not look at all Native Americna or Pueblo UNLESS it was some renegade who rebelled against his/her tribal elders and hung out with hippies in a Volkswagen mini bus or on a commune. It is very 60's/early 70's mid-century modern studio pottery. It could be by anyone of any ethnicity from any country as long as they smoked clove cigarettes and made their own bread.

Maybe from somewhere like Venezuelan or Bolivian or Puerto Rico? Came across this one, also with 'chimneys'

Ha! MYSTERY SOLVED! I did a google search for studio pottery chimneys and found some more. Etsy has two of these. The first rather fabulous one, in blue, is listed by PineBook as an oil lamp or flower bud vase, has a cork in the side, I presume for refilling the oil. It has a small raised signature on the bottom. The second (photo to follow) is listed by ThePlaidFreckle on Etsy and is signed Kravec Studios. If you google Kravec Studios you will find it was a studio pottery in Naples, Florida. I did not have time to research Kravec Studios further. If you do am image search for Kravec Studios you will find several more of these on eBay and old Etsy listings and Pinterest. I did not have time to check them individually if any are signed like yours.

Here is the one from Kravec Studios. So excited the photos are not sideways.

I've been having problems recently with sideways photos too. I think it's landscape orientation that's the problem. Portrait orientation seems to be fine.

Couldn't resist- I LOVE research. There's a Deborah Kravec/ Kravec Studios listed in Naples- not going to post her address here. Also, there's a man named Steve Kravec teaching pottery at Bonita Spring continuing ed. I tried Qodly in quotes and Kravec in the same google search and got nothing so it appears yours is made by someone else, but the Kravecs might know who it is.
