How to remove black magic marker from vinyl on fabulous Chromcraft chairs? Empty How to remove black magic marker from vinyl on fabulous Chromcraft chairs?

These are the one based on Vladimir Kagan's unicorn chair (and sometimes misattributed as such) and seen in black on Star Trek. I have tried straight simple green, hand sanitized (high in alcohol content), a black mark remove product form the marine industry and a Mr. Clean magic eraser. Terrified of Goo Gone but I am running out of options. Don't want to dissolve the vinyl or to be left with a big lighter orange "x".

Acetone (nail varnish remover) was recommended from this list of answers
