Doesn't look like his mark or his usual style. I don't know who's it is , sorry, but looking at the messy base and the mix of painted and sgraffito decoration my gut feeling is it's a hobby potter.

Thank you Naomi. Somehow I don't feel that it is by a hobby potter. I agree that the sgraffito decoration is a bit weak, but otherwise it's a competently thrown and glazed piece and looks to me to be professionally made.
However, I emailed Richard Phethean and he's confirmed that he didn't make it, so I guess it will just have to remain a mystery pot.

Thanks Naomi, another brilliant spot! I occasionally visit Rait (near Dundee) because there's an antiques centre nearby, but never knew there had been a pottery there.
Now, I wonder what I did with the charger? Haven't seen it for years. Perhaps it's in the attic...
