Widecombe Fair slipware mug - Devon Tors Pottery, Bovey Tracey
Not seen one lik this before. Slipware and sgraffito, with a frog. Traditional form but not so traditional artwork. Any ideas about the artist? The shape suggests pre-war, eg Torquay or Devon ware, but I don't think it's that old. Latter half of the 20thC more likely. Unmarked, unless one of the names is the potter - there is a Peter Davey who makes naive figures including Widecombe Fair line ups, but not found any slipware. Not Mary Wondrausch's handwriting so I can cross her off.
