Heavy stoneware vase
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this very well thrown piece. I'd say it has some age as its obviously displayed for some time. height is approx 14-15 inches no marks whatsoever! many thanks

Re: Heavy stoneware vase
Svend Bayer would be my best guess.

Very nice bottle. By someone who doesn't bother to mark their pots; Potty's suggestion is very possible.

Many thanks ....I'll do some research with your suggestions. Its always such a shame when nice pieces like this are unmarked!

Re: Heavy stoneware vase
It doesn't look like a Svend shape to me and the glazed pattern looks strange. There are wood firing potters your way, so it might be local.

Worth asking Pat Southwood. She knows a lot of her fellow Norfolk potters.

Yes, there's Stephen Parry and Mark Titchener not far away from Pat. Stephen has been making wood-fired stoneware the longest and, although it's not like his current work, he could be a possibility.

Re: Heavy stoneware vase
Looks very similar to a container I have by Jeremy Steward, he did not sign anything between 1995-2008. His link is below.
