Does Anbody Know Who This Potter Is?

I was given this back in 1982 for helping a friend move. He was originally from San Francisco, but had moved to Ohio, so those are the two most likely states for the maker to have worked. I really can't even tell which way is up on the potter's mark. It came with a set of matching goblets.

I would appreciate any help you might be able to provide in identifying the artist or studio.

Thank you for the suggestion. I went through their site with no luck before coming here, but I appreciate your response.

I am beginning to think this may be unsolvable.

It's probably going to be one of those that will only be solved by someone seeing this and having bought some work from the potter or posting an image elsewhere on the internet with the name, again knowing who the pot was bought from.
