This piece was too cool to pass on at a recent tag sale.

Nicely done with tri-layer laminate (black interior).

17 1/2" long, 4 3/4" deep and 2 1/4" high.  No markings.

Any ideas?  TIA for looking!

Funnily enough I came across a pair of these recently in a charity shop in the UK. No makers mark on it, unfortunately
