Retro lion Empty Retro lion

Good morning

The charity shop i work at have had this striking chap donated, however there looks like there may have been a manufacturers mark stamped on the bottom that didn't take properly.

I've searched the web and although there are a plethora of lions i cant find one like this, does anybody recognise him or could give me any clues so we know whether he'd be better sent to auction rather than selling in the shop.

I have seen this one before but don't recall the factory. Might be something like Bing & Grondahl or Japanese
