Vintage Ceramic Tile Wall Plaque - Spain? Vallauris?
Hello - has anyone got any ideas about origin/maker of this attractive ceramic wall plaque.
It's a bit like pieces made by Ruscha in Germany or Arnold Wiigs in Norway. However, these tend have a more matte finish, whereas the glaze on this is very glossy.
It has a darker patch on the back that looks as though it could have been a maker's mark but it is indistinct and faded. There is some lettering to the side of the tile, but I can't really make any words out because the letters are partially missing.
The plaque measures almost 8" tall, by almost 4" wide. I guess it dates to approximately the 1960s/70s.
