Japanese ceramics.
I was born in 1963 and spent first 7 years of my childhood in Grenada, a small island in Caribbean. My family moved back to London after also living in Canada and Portugal for a several years. I started studying ceramics from age of 9 and in 1990, completed MA in Ceramics at Goldsmiths University in London.
In 1991 I visited Japan. It was a big culture shock seeing a vast variety and wonderful craftsmanship of Japanese ceramics and I decided to stay there as a student. I was granted a Scholarship to study Ceramics in Kyoto and had an apprenticeship at Miyano-gama Pottery in Seto. After coming back to London, I set up my studio and kept on making stoneware pots and exhibited in galleries.
I now live and work in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
