Cecil Hodkinson, Braunton North Devon Studio Ceramics
I found this today on a bric-a-brac stall, it's a beautiful shimmery brown glaze up close, beautiful thing altogether.
It's clearly stamped, but not the same as on the Braunton thread. I was wondering if this was a later pot in the Braunton history?

I think it must be this pottery - completely separate from the more familiar slipware pottery (which close in 1971):

"Cecil Hodkinson and Phillipa outside pottery in East Street which opened in 1956 and closed on Cecil's retirement in October 1998."

Thanks hb, that explains the difference. I suspect there's not much more information to be found other than yours, they look like a pottery that has passed under the internet radar.

A short article celebrating Cecil Hodkinson's 100th birthday in 2011, mentioning his background as a metallurgist:

But that seems to be about all the solid information there is online about a pottery in production for more than 40 years.

What a great piece to read. A wonderful talented man, quietly doing what he loved until 88 years old!
Thanks for finding that hb.
I'm keeping this beauty (it's a personal choice what's beautiful) on display at home.
