Miniature Fenton James Kent Ltd Foley Ware Vase
About 11.5cms tall. A lovely blue & white Fenton miniature vase. I'm a bit confused by the label. From what I've read it should just be J Kent on the top of the globe, under the crown.
I'm pretty sure this says J Kent Ltd. I know James Kent became a limited company in 1913, so why don't I see this on other labels?
Can anyone help with this please

The exact mark is Goddens, "Ye old Foley Ware", and was used from 1913 onwards.

Thank you dd. Could you tell me a little more, I'm no expert and I'm just wondering about the 'Goddens' mark. Who is that?

Its a fun thing. Can't imagine they made these for long. World war one started soon after and most makers unless the exported a lot closed down., That and the transfers they used for the designs dried up (the Germans made them).

Ah, I've seen that used as reference before...think I'll get myself a copy. Thanks dd
Of course, they became a Ltd company in 1913 and war broke out half way through 1914...not a lot of production time. I wondered why I couldn't find many.
I've been trying to pass this on, had a few "long term watchers" on auction site. I'm sending some things to a 'real' auction, I
might include this little lost morsel.
Thanks Mordeep.
