Beautiful brass(?) art nouveau picture frame Empty Beautiful brass(?) art nouveau picture frame

I bought this at the weekend and am now regretting leaving behind two others in the shop (one the same as this but with a broken back and the other a less attractive double frame). I'm been looking this up online and the ones I can find that are similar, with a red velvet back, are giving the date as 1910 and the country of origin as France. I have checked the frame but can't see a country stamp anywhere.

A friend has something similar. French Art Nouvaux was our best guess but that was unmarked too

The dark metal clips on the back and the quality suggest to me that it might be from the 1970s when there was a revival of interest in Art Nouveau style. It is difficult to tell from pictures but it looks more that age to me than 60 years earlier.

Could be 70s revival. Some of those holes in the design look very rough, and the clips aren't old.

Thanks guys - i have a lot to learn. I wish i could take you shopping with me ☺. Do you think it might be brass? Whatever it is, it has a lovely soft burnished look.
