Jacob Bodilly Freeform Vase
Jacob Bodilly free form vase. Leach student, Boscean Pottery and his new pottery Jacob Bodilly Pottery, Eden Devon. I sent him a email to confirm it was made by him and here is his reply.
Hi Ernest
Yes I can confirm I made it. It was made in my final year at Cardiff university and I was in a very experimental stage. It was almost s purging period where I tried many opposing techniques and more visceral throwing and building techniques inspired by people like Peter Volkos and Simon Carroll.
The piece is made from red earthenware and fired to stoneware in oxidation with black vitreous slip and oxide saturated glaze. Made in late 2007/ early 2008 at university of Wales Cardiff.
Regards
Jacob
