Nigeria plate & Teapot - HA mark - Abuja? Jos? Jacaranda Pottery?
A chance find in a charity shop yesterday. A whole shelf of various
items, vases, tureens, plates etc. with a sign saying they were all
"Nigerian pottery". All with similar undersides and glazes, but how
would they know, unless the donor had actually told them so? Their
"valuer" may have id'd them, but they were so cheap, I doubt it.
Some were damaged anyway, so I just picked out the three items
that were marked. I probably should have just bought the lot,
but I was parked a long way away.
These two items have the same mark, a clear "HA", so I've put
them together in this thread.
The other piece has a different mark, so is here:

A striking similarity to my previous, as yet unresolved, piece here:
Also marked "HA", but slightly differently.

Wonderful! Funnily enough someone on FB has just posted photos of what was left on the shelves (mostly damaged, he said) and went back to buy it. I think you got the best bits, though :)

Wow, you have to be quick! but it was 40 miles away.
Were there any comments as to what they were?

The casserole from the collection was identified as being from Jacaranda Pottery, near Kaduna, in northern Nigeria.
By Maragaret Mamaki / Dr. Eli Mama. They were copying Abuja pieces.
