Hand painted enamel bowl Empty Hand painted enamel bowl

Post by Anthony January 9th 2017, 11:45 am

Hello..

We've recently inherited several items of rather nice pottery and fine china that we would like to identify.  The first piece is a hand painted enamel bowl with what I believe are brass handles.  I have been unable to identify the maker, please can anyone help?

Many thanks in advance.

I suspect this will have been made in the last 20 years or so, simply due to the poison warning. The glaze is artificially crackled to give an impression of age. Could be produced in the Far East for the UK (or any English-speaking) market.

Thank you Essenjay for your assistance, I think you're probably correct.

Agreed, fairly recent. Maybe from Hong Kong or Japan?

Dunno, I think earlier. French pre-war pottery often had a metal surround with handles such as this. It has the look of a Sarreguemines piece. Just a thought.

Its new. The older French ones are hand painted and carry no warning. I know of a company in the Netherlands that has very similar wares made for them in China and sells them to stores throughout Europe (I had there catalogue a while back). It could be from them or many other similar companies.
