Julius Dressler or ???
I have owned this for 20 years and knew what it was at one point. I believe it started with a J. Believe it is Austrian or Czech. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow what a great shape. Looks like a stunning piece of European secessionist ceramics from the start of the 20th century, I would guess Austrian by the number but the metal trim does also suggest French. If you search images of secessionist ceramics you may get a match on the shape. That would be my suggestion, there are a lot of makers it could be. Great item.

Thanks. It has no metal on it. I do have a Teplitz amphora piece that has bronze on it. I am pretty sure it's Austrian; I think it says Austria next to the number. Hard to make out.

I searched secession and jugendstil. Came up with a lot but nothing identical. Several Dressler pieces are very similar.

Very difficult to pin down a maker without a signature or a design match. But luckily demand is so strong for this period and what is known so vague it has almost no impact on value. The bad news is that if it was made from glass you would be dancing in the street right about now. I would hold until you had a firm name and enjoy. It may take time but you will find out.
