Interesting jug , made 'yesterday'?
I was attracted to the shape of this jug when I saw it from afar and more so when I saw the interior colour.
I was disappointed when I picked it up to find it was really weighty and ' bottom heavy' and the base with its mark looked as if it had been made yesterday and by an ' amateur' . Deeply incised mark is Jo & Co and MM. 20cm high
I would be grateful for any thoughts

Beautiful shape, but strange bottom. I wonder if MM stands for the year 2000

Could it be made for a re-enactment, or film prop?

As I was trying to show the interior colour the base is a bit distorted . The second image of the complete pot is more accurate .
It was the shape that attracted me initially and I was really disappointed !
Good idea re MM/2000. I need to research if the shape is from a certain era

It reminds me of a silver jug shape, which some 18th-19thC pottery ones were based on

Def not an 18th 19th century mark!! The sharp pieces of clay caused by incising the mark are REALLY sharp'

Points more to a piece made for a reenactment society then
