Re: Jeremy Leach
The JL mark is one Jeremy Leach used at Lowerdown pottery 2001-2013. Lowerdown pottery is an L+ mark, the cross mark might be a representation of that. Robert Tinnyunt worked at Lowerdown Pottery 1967-70. There were many other potters who worked at Lowerdown with David Leach, including other nationalities.
Do you know who the Matilda pottery is? That and the E might be other potters who worked at Lowerdown. The nature of the several marks would suggest a cooperative venture which several potters would bevinvolved in. This was usually at specific events like demonstrations at Ceramic festivals, or a special show at a gallery, or an individual Lowerdown anniversary maybe.

Re: Jeremy Leach
Jeremy Leach loves his stamps. You can always tell one of his pots just by the number and variety of stamps on the base :)

Re: Jeremy Leach
Just tried to make sense of Jeremy's marks for the BISPM database:
Timeline from the Marks book:
1957- Wiltshire.
1962- London.
1965- Lebanon.
1967- Harrow.
1970- Lowerdown, Bovey Tracey, Devon.
1982- Chichester.
1983- Lowerdown, Bovey Tracey, Devon.
1998- Moorlands, Haytor Vale, Dartmoor, Devon.
2001- Lowerdown, Bovey Tracey, Devon.
2014- The Edgemore Hotel, Haytor Road, Bovey Tracey, Devon.
(I've added: 2010s- Muchelney, Somerset).
My interpretation:
Jeremy has used numerous stamps on his pots over the years:
CP stamp was used at Craft Pottery in London. Prior to that he used a DS stamp for Dauntsey School in Wiltshire but I've not seen an example of it.
The fish, and then the cross stamps signify his Christian faith.
TR stamp stands for Robert Tinnyunt at Lowerdown Pottery (L+ mark) although Tinnyunt was just finishing there when Jeremy arrived in 1970 so it may be as a thank you to Tinnyunt for training him, especially since it also appears later, on pots stamped with the M and E pottery marks. Also the vase shapes and glazes are very similar to Tinnyunt's so there may be other reasons for using it.
Jeremy returned to Lowerdown several times so the L+ stamp is not always accompanied by the TR stamp.
M is for Moorlands Pottery - often referred to as Matilda Pottery (sometimes written Mathilda) based near Hay Tor. Legend says the pottery was named after a favorite aunt but the Marks book has it down as Moorlands so Jeremy must have corrected it, although it's sometimes accompanied by the E stamp which he used at The Edgemore Hotel when he returned to Hay Tor in 2014, in which case the Matilda story would be correct.
The handwritten JL ME mark was on a tankard I bought at Muchelney Pottery in the 2010s, although the M and E might stand for Matilda / Edgemore Pottery rather than Muchelney, although he might have fired them at Muchelney.

Re: Jeremy Leach
Jeremy's early pots were earthenware while living in London.
However, it is Jeremy's mark when he made pots with his father during the last few years that David was alive. So the pieces with LD and JL are pieces made together, as Coper/Rie tableware from the 1950s.

Re: Jeremy Leach
It could be earlier because from when I first met Jeremy, which would have been around 2000, I can only remember him using an incised JL mark at Lowerdown. However, I never visited him in the few years that he was there after his father's death, so don't know if he used a JL seal at that point. He did use a JL seal when he was elsewhere during this century but, if I recall correctly, it wasn't as neat as this one.

Re: Jeremy Leach
This section of his bio shows how many times he was potting at Lowerdown. You'd have to reseach the shape of the Lowerdown stamps (if that was even possible) to narrow it down
