Coarse pottery bowl with painted face
Just wondering if anyone recognizes the maker, bought at a flea market last year.

looks French to me
try pushing some blu tac or similar into the base mark, you might be able to read it from the imprint

Thanks for the idea. I did that but the R is then back to front. One thing that does look clearer now is that there is a square or rectangle after the lettering. I still think it says MARGA, do you think so or is it just my eye of faith? Of course, it would be fun if it said Madoura... wishful thinking though.

I found 4 or 5 results for Marga pottery on Google so it may be correct
