This looks Persian perhaps or Indonesian - don't think it's Chinese. Any thoughts.

Looks like it's signed Zeli. One of the Delft Gouda potteries, maybe?

The lid looks like it was once separate from the body and has been glued in - could it have been converted from a vase?

It's certainly a vase shape but I suspect it was made to be a lamp because the lid looks like it belongs to it and there's no base; you wouldn't have those if it was meant to be used as a vase.
