I think the mark is an A but not 100%. It's large and well decorated.

Might be an A mark for Charles Audoin. I think he's based in the US but the original link has disappeared

The clay looks the same as does the glaze, chances are high Excellent Excellent

Sorry, to clarify, the example on google is the same as the one I saved to Pinterest but there is no other examples of this potters work. Plus there was a similar one attributed to a 'Chris Audoin' so it is still to be verified.

There's a video of Charles Audoin (who I think is French) throwing a pot in 1989, but unfortuately it doesn't give a clue to his decorating style:
