Art Deco Pottery Pouter Pigeon, Unmarked
I have in my collection a beautiful pottery Pidgeon that is unmarked but the base, glaze and quality of the piece made me think that perhaps it was an unknown or an experimental piece of Abingdon pottery (not the 388 figure). However, I was informed by an Abingdon collector that it is not.
It is perched on a base and the pigeon measures 6 1/4" tall. The base measures approximately 2 3/4" (side to side) X 3 1/8" front to back. The pigeon measures almost 4 1/2" from tail to chest. The glaze is also very similar to the Delft or Dusty Blue glazes of Abingdon. The glaze is just a little bit lighter than in the photos. Any information in identifying the maker and when it was made would be greatly appreciated.
. Thank you in advance for your time.
