Slipware & sgraffito, jB mark - Ewenny, Barnstaple, Farnham?
It's really hard to tell just looking at a book but this mark seems like it might be a Beresford Pealing mark? I have the mark upside down if it is. I tried contacting the Town Mill Pottery in 2007 but they didn't reply. It's nine and a half inches high. It has lot's of crazing on it but i don't think it's of any great age. Sgraffito decoration, i love it.

It's dB, so not Pealing's mark.
The decoration looks similar to Ewenny and Devon slipware, but as it's a stamped mark it's likely to be post-WW2; possibly 1960s

Pealing's mark has a distinctive square round it from the stamp, and is usually on Stoneware. http://pin.it/gvMY2wj
I've not seen an example of his work in sgraffito decorated slipware on earthenware.

Looks early 20th Century slipware with sgraffito decoration, aka, Ewenny, Barnstaple, Farnham...

It has none of the signs of age I would expect from period Ewenny, Barnstaple or Farnham. It simply doesn't look like an early 20th century bit of art pottery. I would put it no more than 30-40 years old. Probably a local pottery south of England pottery, there are an awful lot to chose from.

I tend to agree with Mordeep as regards age. The upper half does look old but the execution of the leaves doesn't look good enough for a half decent art pottery of the period. In particular the way the unglazed base protrudes looks more recent than not.
