Yes, she's based in Aberdeenshire. Bought it via her online shop but it's a pre-order so you have to wait several weeks for her next firing (or the one after if it's all gone pearshaped) .
No it's not marked but she doesn't need to; her work is instantly recognisable.

Like any other small business, cash flow must be a serious concern for most potters.

Nancy is Taiwanese by birth but was raised in Scotland. She originally trained as a printmaker before discovering wood-fired ceramics when she visited Taiwan at the beginning of this century. She began studying there and then underwent a month long residency at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. While there she was introduced to highly regarded potter, Shigeji Suzuki and later returned to Shigaraki to undergo a year long apprenticeship with him.

Upon her return to the UK, with her Shigaraki pots, she had her first exhibition with me at the Harlequin Gallery in a 2 person show alongside Peter Swanson in May 2008.

Her work is hand-built and this tsubo was the largest work in that exhibition and was sold for a 4 figure sum.

It was made from clay dug from Hata, with Amagatani White Gairome clay and was fired in 2007. It is 48 cm tall.

There is a smaller tsubo from that exhibition at just over 35 cm tall.

Following her return to the UK she built an anagama style kiln in rural Aberdeenshire and had a small exhibition of the best pots from her first firing of that kiln with me in early 2011.

Here's one of them. A small Moon Jar.

I was going back through my files and found this image of a set of cups that Nancy made in Shigaraki during 2006/7. They were all made from the same kinose clay blend but fired in different kilns.

Like everything she makes, this flower vase is hand-built. It was made and fired in Shigaraki during 2006.

In autumn 2020, Nancy took part in a mixed exhibition at the prestigious gallery, Hauser & Wirth, at their Bruton, Somerset site. They have other galleries in Zurich, London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Gstaad, so quite an operation.

Here is her signature, which is very faint and difficult to see, even on her large tsubos.
