The dreaded glaze filled mark. Well amongst vaguely Leach type potters, Mike Dodd is the one who has the most glazed filled items. But I might well vote for a 'school of' Frith pot. They have been doing teaching courses for decades, so if the glazes look like a Frith, it might equally be made by a pupil of theirs. David Frith pieces invariably have personal and pottery marks. whereas pots made by pupils have the single pottery mark alone.

There is/was a colony of ex-pat potters in South Africa who sold via London galleries in the latter half of the 20thC. It might be by one of them.

I can see the similarity with your Tureen Denby. Looked at a few Frith jugs and non have the handle that's finished in this way. Interested in your South Africa idea Naomi, do you have any more info like names etc..
