Pierced plate by Charles Pillivuyt, retailed by Escalier de Cristal, Paris

Vintage plate with pierced rim and painted cornflowers. Can anyone read the signature? Made in Paris. There's also an inscribed mark in the base.

Cheers :) There's one online with a stamp for Charles Pillivuyt & Co, Paris, but I assume that's another retailer.

Pillivuyt were - and still are - manufacturers, though at Mehun sur Yèvre rather than Paris.

There's an "antique porcelain Charles Pillivuyt Mehun France Barbeau tea pot" on google with the same pattern so I'm going to assume this was made by Pillivuyt and retailed by Escalier

What does barbeau mean in the sentence "Théière au barbeau en porcelaine". In google translate it's 'barbecue'

Pillivuyt probably acted like some of our potteries, Royal Worcester being one example, and produced for a number of retail outlets for them to sell with their own shop name on the back. Pretty piece.

Translates as cornflower so presumably "porcelain teapot with cornflowers"
