Hereford Tiles
Just wondered if anyone can add anything about Hereford Tiles. The information online is scant and the Higgins & Farmer's 'Mid Century Modern Tiles' book mentions their name just once. It seems as though they around from the 1950s to the 1970s though I can't decide whether they simply provided blanks (including to Aldermaston, according to one eBay seller), were sub-contracted to produce finished tiles for others or also produced their own finished pieces which they marketed themselves. Perhaps all three.
Anyway, here is a 4" square tile with a very agreeable abstract pattern in black and white, very Fifties / Sixties, with indistinct pencilled details (mainly numbers) on the reverse.

Re: Hereford Tiles
Can't say I've ever seen an Aldermaston tile until I googled them. Not sure why they couldn't make their own if they needed them.
