Large pouring jug stamped MD ?
Unsure if this is marked MD...if so possibly then Mike Dodd...?

I don't think it's Mike Dodd, but the glaze is typical of early Muchelney and The Friars Aylesford Pottery. Possibly the latter. A photo of the base to check the clay may help to ID it.

I'm still not sure about the stamped letters...definitely M something...!
As i am a complete novice, as you can surely tell, what might a 'leach glaze' imply...?

Just means it's one of the glaze recipies they used back in the 60s-70s, developed, I think, by David Leach. It had a distinctive way of breaking, leaving those little black lines in the whiter glaze.
