Odd, it looks like a back to front Phil Rogers' mark, and his style of pot.

yes it does... i wish it could have been by him :) or by trevor corser, i bought it because i thought it looked like one of his,,, wish i could have seen a TC instead .

You'd need to ask Phil Rogers. I can't think who else it would be.

Found a piece by Polden Pottery with a similar SP mark, but the potter isnt recorded

Same backwards mark found on a vase which Phil Rogers has confirmed was his, so I think that mystery is finally solved.

Thank you so much for plugging away at this one, i’m delighted because i thought it was a lovely lovely piece - the gallery who sold it to me said it was by stephen parry - but i looked up and it didn't match his marks.

Phil Rogers has a habit of disowning pots of his that he doesn’t like :D No explanation from him of how his stamp ended up backwards on some of his work. And he borrowed Mark Griffiths kiln to fire some of his pots at one point, so his mark is paired with a C stamp for Griffith’s pottery, but he doesn’t like to talk about it.
Edited to add, there is a potter who uses such a stamp on red clay pieces, so this is still not verified as being by Rogers
