Porcelain vase, maker unknown.
A porcelain vase with a fabulous glaze, like something I have seen on Faberge pieces. I picked this up at a car boot a couple of weeks back, the person selling it thought it was glass.
The mark is incised by hand & very feint. It looks like a W with a J going through the middle. A little similar to the mark used by James Walford, but not by his hand. It feels modern. Any help appreciated, thank you.

I think you are right Denby, I was having a trawl through google and found one via the Saleroom with the same mark.
Many thanks folks.

Re: Porcelain vase, maker unknown.
Looks like a WJ or JW mark. Not mentioned under his entry in the Marks book

James Walford? - Mark Walford does crystalline glazes like this, but he’s not mentioned in the book and I’m wondering if he’s related to James Walford

I think I jumped the gun a bit, was looking at the other piece from the wrong angle
Thank you Naomi, though it feels too new to be James Walford and the mark is similar to his, but not the same.
I will google Mark Walford though, as much for curiousity if nothing else, interested to see what his brother has done.
Is a crystalline glazed piece more difficult to achieve than any other process?

The way the vase (top left on his webpage) tapers to a point is incredible, what skill to do something like that., absolutely beautiful piece.
