Unknown DC or X (underline) Lidded Pot

I was wondering if anybody could help identify this studio pottery lidded box - Mark could be a DC or an underlined X - has this come up before at all?











Any help really would be much appreciated

I wonder if it's a late piece by Alan Ashpool? His mark is usually stamped but very similar style

I sold an early piece of Alan Ashpool's work a few years ago and he contacted me and sent some images of more recent work, which was less traditional and nothing like this.
