Crackle Glazed Crouching Rabbit
Hello,
my wife bought a pair of these rabbits and likes them so much she would like to know of other similar pieces.
I don't like them much myself but happy wife, happy life, so...
It's about 6 inches long, no marks of any kind on the base.
Any help greatly appreciated. I've tried all the usual things, google reverse image search etc. just hoping someone might recognis them.
Regards,
Jonnno.

Re: Crackle Glazed Crouching Rabbit
Need a base photo to be certain, but I believe it’s a modern Chinese import. They are copies of 19thC Staffordshire prattware rabbits. The difference is that the Chinese pieces are porcelain or a white stoneware, where as the originals are a soft earthenware. You should be able to find more in antiques barns that also have dealers selling contemporary decorators pieces.

Thanks Naomi, I can see the resemblence to the Prattware and these are certainly not earthenware, so modern copies. I'm happy as it means any more my wife finds should not be too expensive :-)
