Rectangular blue vase Hamada like
I was wondering if anyone might be able to shed any light on something I acquired recently. I’ve attached pictures and the Hamada similarities or inspiration is pretty obvious. There are no marks and it’s not a stoneware, rather it’s mould made in a style similar to Troika. Just curious as to what it might be and where it could be from. Many thanks.

It does seem to be Japanese influenced but I’m not seeing the quality or the glaze colours I’d expect if it’s was Japanese Mashiko ware.

I think your description of it is spot on. I would imagine that it was made in the UK by someone trying to make bottles in the Hamada style cheaply i.e. with a cheap clay body and joining two moulded pieces together, as the diagonal line on the base suggests.
