Found pottery in sink hole near my house

I found this in a sink hole near our home. I've been searching for answers for 2 months, first, thank you and 2nd, it's nice to meet everyone!

You're welcome to post here, but most of our members are British. We do have US members too who may be able to help, but the pot falls into quite a specialized area of collecting as it's neither factory or studio pottery. You may have more luck contacting your nearest museum. Or you could try the Pueblo and Historic Native Pottery group on Facebook

Pottery found discarded - such as that in sink holes- tends to be very local. Reality is, your first port of call should be any local potteries. This looks like a piece of utilitarian ware for everyday use. Back in the 19th century, with no Railway, no plastics, expensive glass.....This sort of pottery was produced in many local potteries, Whether it is Europe or the USA. The same parameters apply.
If it came from a large commercial pottery. then this sort of thing would have been produced in very large quantities.
