Hi

I’m new to this site and would like to say thank you for any help that you may be able to provide for me and my family.

I wonder if we could ask for some help in identifying some ceramic that my sister and I have been left as part of our mother’s estate.

This is the third piece: a quite large stoneware ginger jar with an inscribed  ‘R’ marked to the base.

Thank you in advance

P

I’ve come across this R mark but not managed to Identify it yet. The pot certainly look British. It might be a potter’s unrecorded mark, but Irish is also a possibility which could explain why I’m not finding it in the Marks book.

Thank you Naomi.

Do you see a feint mark to the right of the R or am I seeing things?

Thanks again.

There might be a rough bit but I don't think it’s a potter’s mark.

This is the similar unidentified one. The seller thought it was Rowena Kinseman, but it’s not her recorded mark
