Just seen a few pieces by highly respected Irish artist Pauline Bewick. She has decorated ceramics made by Irish studio potteries like Terrybaun during her long career. There have been a few pieces at the auction houses but not seen her mark. Might be dated 1978 rather than '48.

Hi Noami, gosh i'd almost forgotten about this one,

Unfortunately it is a definite 1948 mark :( but thanks so much for the info. Just had a look at her work and it's really impressive

It looks very well decorated and I like the look of it very much. Maybe it was done by someone better known as an artist?

I think that no matter who made it, it would be quite desirable.
