Planter with mushrooms / toadstools
Bouyed up by your swift answer yesterday, I wonder if I can show you this planter ? The interior has a tortoiseshell colour and the outside has this stylised toadstool design . No maker's mark.

Re: Planter with mushrooms / toadstools
Not one I recognise. I’m afraid without a mark to look up we’ll have to hope someone recognised it or wait for one to turn up with a label

I suspect it is a fairly recent import that looks older than it is.

Check out Common Ground pottery or Moorcrofts tube lined vases by Ailie Woodhead but your vase doesn't look like it's tube lined though it's similar with the mushrooms forking off

From Southern Europe maybe. A lot of hand decorated pots in white earthenware imported from Portugal, Spain and Italy

I see what you mean about Common Ground - and they have mushroom designs. My pot looks tube lined but it is flat. It looks better in the flesh I think, the glaze has a pearly / waxy finish. I've just got to get my head around it being from S.Europe and new now !
