Painted Ball vase FL mark 86?
Bought this in a French junkshop.
The mark looks like ID then 86 underneath.
I thought at first it could possibly have been a Gustave Reynaud but this is too clean looking - less organic than his work - but I saw a slight similarity in his mark ... but I think not.
I cannot find any ID marks in the Fournier book, nor any IDs in Vallauris ... is it from somewhere else?
Thanks for any clues.

We’ve had it a couple of times before and I have an owl with this mark but I’ve not been able to ID it so far.

What are your feelings as to location ... could it be Belgian, or German. It is such a precise piece that I wondered whether it was molded but looking at the slight ridges running around it I would definitely say hand thrown.
I forgot to say that it is 4"/10cm all round.

I couldn’t say. Several have turned up in the U.K. so more likely to be British.
The owl is molded.

I have just been to a local brocante, and what did I see? A pot with exactly the same style as the one I own - except for the mark!
I questioned the brocanteur and he believes it comes from the south west of France(!?) Unfortunately, he wouldn't say any more, other than it might come from an atelier in the Pyrenese or thereabouts.
I am not convinced, but I'll investigate a bit. If you have any ideas regarding ateliers (potteries) in that area then I would love to hear from you.
