Ashworth & Bros
Hi,
I found this Ashworth & Bros lobster dish today. I know it dates from 1861-1891 & I think it’s ironstone but not sure of that!
I can’t find any examples of it on the internet. Is it rare, or could I be googling the wrong terminology??!!

Re: Ashworth & Bros
I wouldn't imagine that it is that rare but this type of thing is really out of fashion, although maybe coming back just a little. Around 30 years ago I remember seeing these types of dishes quite often and back then it would be worth more than it is today.

To get an idea of the value of this dish to an Ebay search for ' Lobster dish' and then tick the sold items box near the bottom of the left hand side options list.

Re: Ashworth & Bros
Thank you for the info - very interesting. I have some Ashworth Imari style plates but I haven’t started looking into them yet! I think they only have The Ashworth impressed back stamp, but not sure ! Need to dig them out!

Re: Ashworth & Bros
The black transfer back stamp should say Morley & Ashworth around the top. Seems that my plate is 1858
