Royal Venton ware. J. Steventon & Sons (Burslem)
Royal Venton Ware made by J Steventon & Sons from Burslem, Stoke on Trent. This fabulous glaze is known as Mutton Crackle glaze. The factory operated from 1897-1936.
Here's a website on the factory.

And here is a gallery of Mutton Crackle ware.

Factory seems to have produced a funny range of stuff, some of it's quite ordinary and some rather nice.

BTW it's quite large and weighs a ton. 8 inches (20 cm) across and 5.5 inches deep (14 cm)
Royal Venton ware. John Steventon & Sons, (Burslem).
Just picked this vase up its orange and yellow with a white/pinkish tinge fat lave dripglaze top
Indistinct mark to the base, looks to be hand potted maybe.
18cm tall, quite heavy .

Certainly looks to be a British stamp, rather than Continental.

Thanks for the responses. I agree that its probably British.
But cant fins a Crown Ducal mark that would fit ?
Whats the chance of it being a Wilkinson mark?

I have seen many Ducal vases in this colourway though
I can't see a Ducal, or Wilkinson, mark that matches either.
Above the crown is the first word ROYAL, or the second word WARE?
This is bugging me.
