Unknown English porcelain with griffins
Hello
I recently bought (in a French flea market) a set of plates and a bowl with this blue and gold pattern of griffins, which I could not find anywhere.
I could not identify the mark either, it is "English porcelain " inscribed in a double circle
No other clue, I'm afraid, except for the photos here enclosed (the griffins and patterns are outlined in gold, which is not easy to capture)
Thank you for your help and your very interesting forum.
Best regards !
(Sorry uploading the photos didn't work, I'm trying again…)

Re: Unknown English porcelain with griffins
Hi and welcome.
This one might be difficult. I would say 19thC, but with no other marks....
I can find no reference to it in my book, but may have been used by several
manufacturers, possibly for export.
There may be other marks, check all the items in the set.
Often there are very small impressed marks or words under the glaze,
and very difficult to see.

Thank you for your answer, I checked, unfortunately no other mark on the plates and bowl.
Definitely 19thC indeed, and I can just add that the circle is forming a belt with a buckle (which is not quite obvious on the photo, the mark is quite blurred.) Maybe that would help…
It's quite lovely, anyway…
